1st of all, take a look at his approval rating. It sucks so i don't think he's got any body hoodwinked into thinking he's some thing that he's not.
Don't get me wrong, I didn't vote for him or his father, but everybody keeps blaming him & his adminstration for everything.
I mean really, I think he's a complete embarrassment to America but what do you think , he's got some kind of magic wand that can make gas prices lower ?
Do you think he planned Katrina?
Do you really think he controls the senate ?
Do you think that removing him from office would magically repair everything?
Stop being so naive & do something YOURSELF to make the world a better place.
Get out & vote
Volunteer
Get involved
Conserve energy
Conserve fuel
Recycle (do you have any idea how much petrolium is used in plastic?)
Educate yourself on facts not fiction.
Quit whining and DO something.
All the problems of the world don't rest on one individual.
Not even one as stupid as George W. Bush!

You need to get your news from some place other than "The Daily Show". Just last week, the Republicans attempted to pass a law raising the minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.25 and hour over a three year period. Because that same bill eliminated some of the Estate Taxes, the Democrats would not let the bill pass. I don't care who is in the White House, no one can bring oil prices down. People are willing to pay $3.00 + a gallon - though it hurts some people. The government does not regulate what the oil companies can charge. Katrina was a natural disaster - and it is a shame that so many people had to suffer. But the blame for what happen does fall solely on the Federal Government. If Mayor Nagen had done his job properly, as well as the governor - things would have been much better. The Senate and Congress both Republicans and Democrats got raises - this was not the work of the Bush Administration. In fact, they get a pay raise automatically unless they vote against it. I don't see why you think the earth is in any big crisis.

I think people can easily see and accept that there is turmoil in the country, but not everyone blames George Bush for everything.

There is and has been turmoil in the Middle East "forever". Then there is the thing that the terrorism escalated. The president has responded in the way, apparently, that he thought best unless he's just some big, evil person out to do whatever he feels like. Many people give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he responded according to his own judgment and his advisors' recommendations. Yes - its a mess, but the Middle East is always a mess not matter what anyone does or doesn't do.

(I'm neither condeming nor condoning the president's judgments - just pointing out why some people will cut him some slack.)

Katrina: No president brings on horrible hurricanes. Our country is set up in a way that has the states and local communities handling their own stuff. Yes, there's FEMA, but each government agency has its own set of people running things and making decisions because no president can run everything everywhere in the country. Presidents are not kings with all the power. Their power is limited. From the local officials to the local residents to the meteorologists to FEMA to whoever else and then the president, the Katrina thing was a mess; but even if someone blames the president for any of it they certain cannot blame him for all of it. Presidents listen to what people are telling them. If people are saying things are under control they believe it. There were too many cooks spoiling that Katrina broth, and some of what went on had to do with other people's choices and with the intensity of the storm itself.

Gas prices are not set at the whim of a King/President. They are affected by worldwide events. A king could set them at a nice, low 50 cents a gallon; but a president cannot. Again, not defending him. Just saying why some people won't pin everything bad on him.

The minimum wage thing does have another side to it because as much as anyone may want to see minimum-wage workers get better pay there are issues with regard to consequences to companies who are forced to pay the higher wage, particularly small businesses. I, personally, would like to see minimum wage jobs just go to students and have an educational system that doesn't turn out people who can only work such jobs after leaving school; so its a complicated matter. Again, a king could change the minimum wage all over the country; but we didn't want a king when our country was first established.

Many people just realize this president won't be in again next time around, so they accept that he's in now. Whether he has created the turmoil or inherited it depends on people's opinions and on how well someone understands all the intricacies of how things have happened.

Most well-informed, educated people realize that so much has nothing to do with the president they just vote for the next person with a kind of "Let's give them a chance to see if they can do anything to make anything any better" mentality and without any real hopes that any one individual who isn't a king can.

It would be nice if there could be less turmoil or if one individual could magically make everyone in the world perfect and peaceful and whatever else; but since that isn't possible and since this is a democracy, the thing that you see people accepting is that the world is complicated, dangerous and unpredictable and no one individual can fix it all to our satisfaction

Sometimes the turmoil of democracy just looks so much more chaotic than, say, the order of a place like Cuba. Again, more reasons that people may not be as quick to condemn the president as you would like them to be....

What are you talking about? Let me break down your statement here!

Gas Prices - currently dictated by the INTERNATIONAL MARKET! We do need to increase domestic supply (through more drilling, alternative fuels, and increased fuel efficiency vehicles), and refining capacity, but it has been the DEMOCRATS in congress who've faught every attempt to open ANWAR (America's Saudi Arabia) and expand upon coastal drilling. Clinton/Gore ALSO had 8, count them, EIGHT years and did nothing while the popularity of fuel inefficient vehicles started to rise! Leaving Bush to inherit the job of creating an energy policy that was indeed non-existant beforehand! With continued battling from the liberals in congress, our energy policy has yet to be fully completed and implemented.

The war - if you are saying Bush is to blame for the 9/11 attacks - you are sadly mistaken! Don't believe the rubbish coming out about a government conspiracy - there are so many holes in that theory it's laughable! As for Iraq, Saddam was violating the treaty signed at the end of the previous Gulf war by not coming forward with how he got rid of weapons we know he had. At the same time Saddam was making some very suspicious moves that hinted at his ambitions. Perhaps he wasn't seeking uranium ore from Africa yet, but he did have a nuclear program that was estimated to be less then a decade from developing a bomb. Personally I blame Clinton - THE VERY FIRST TIME weapons inspectors were kicked out, our troops should've gone in and finished the job! Instead Clinton and Saddam played this game that prolonged the inevitable and gave Saddam more than enough time to export, hide, and plan.

Katrina - How can you blame Bush for the hurricane? Granted FEMA and the red cross have made far too many inexcusable blunders, and Bush should take some responsibility being the top man, but in the end it is the agencies tasked with the cleanup and restoration who are at fault! Same for people in the hurricane zone - they had 48 hours notice that it was coming and chose to stay despite being given evacuation orders! And those who want to rebuild in what is designated as a flood zone - please don't ask me for rebuilding aid the next time this happens!

Senate giving themselves a raise - well funny thing, since congress controls the purse strings, congress can do that WITHOUT the president's approval. Can't tag Bush on that one, but remember it next time you vote - get some of these long time career politicians out of office!

Raising the minimum wage - With high gas prices right now, isn't the economy taxed enough? Many companies are going downhill based on rising production and transportation costs. I'm not saying we don't need a minimum wage increase, but just as business costs are going up, so is the cost of living for individuals. Would you rather be employed or layed off because your boss really can't afford you anymore? Me, I'd rather keep working, harder if need be, and loosen my belt hoping better times return.

How could Bush control Katrina or the gas prices? Does he have a weather machine we don't know about? Yeah I didn't think so. People were warned about how bad the hurricane would be but they didn't listen. That is their own fault. Does he choose how much each gas station charges for gas? Yeah I didn't think so. It's called supply and demand. You really need to get your head out of you butt and accept the fact that Bush doesn't have that much power. You just need an excuse to complain about something because you have nothing better to do.

well what do you think would happen if they put a family in the white house that is also in the business of oil and one that believes in world power is more important the the average american.
In case you have not seen it, there are millions who agree with you. I would say everyone who stands at the gas pumps or looses their job due to cut backs will have a few problems with our leader. But you see the average american has no say so because we do not have so much money to just throw away so what we think falls to deaf ears.
Turmoil is an understatement - when we can send billions overseas to feed a country that hates us and still have homeless and starving in our own country the term turmoil doesn't even weigh in.

Better stop listening to CNN and reading the drive-by media newspapers. Gas prices are supply and demand (do you understand that phrase?).
Katrina? It is the local governments decision to make the first move as well as ask for help. They did neither.
Raise the minimum wage ? THE DEMOCRAPS stopped this ! What country do you live in?
