what are some of the rules of animal research?
are you willing to work flexible hours in case an animal needs care?

The biggest thing is that you're not allergic to animals or animal dander and have no problem with the research that will probably save human lives.

Also that you are willing to learn all the rules and regulations regarding the care and feeding of all the animals housed in this facility. Research animals are usually better kept than the employees with double filtered air, water, and a controlled temperature. You need to make sure you are someone who "pays attention to detail" and won't forget you've left a cage in transit. A research facility can loose funding if found at fault for a problem with the animals.

Animal care is taken very seriously and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees oversee the treatment of animals.
