I was in Germany when the wall came down. I was stationed in Munich, GE. I actually have friends who were in Prague when the student riots spontaneously erupted there and others who were in Berlin. I have a piece of the wall of course and a piece of the fence that divided east and west Germany as well. That was a very exciting time. You can't even imagine how we felt as soldiers over there. I mean our whole mission was to ensure a Soviet invasion did not occur. Everything we did was directed against the Soviets and when that happened and the "Evil Empire" toppled over it was just amazing. I can still remember the shock I felt as I asked myself what was going to happen next in the world. I served two tours in Germany (88-91 and 02-05) and let me tell you - it was a completely different country the second time around (it was better during the first tour).
My parents were at the Kennedy assassination.

Yes, I am. 20th November 1981 the Birth of a Great Man called Gopal. I was present there. Unfortunately the world history doesn't contain that event.

Probably the closest thing for me was seeing the Olympic Torch relay pass by the building that I worked in as prelude to the 1996 Summer games in Atlanta. I remember commenting something like "Several hours of anticipation, five seconds of glory." :-) I know, it's not terribly exciting, but that's all I could think of. Otherwise, I've been fairly obscure.
