This the Amerian counterpart of the show at present going on in India-The Reservation Conundrum. The anti-reservations prima facie make a valid point that when the constitution promises equality to all why, oh why, some secetions of the people should gets some unwarranted advantage. However, such an argument in the American context smells like the rotten Ku Klux Klan mentality of White Supremacy. We would not admit even to ourselves that we are the descendents of those KKKlan members. Otherwise President Johnson would not have required to have recourse to military to enforce the measure of mixed schools. The ghost of while supremacy has so taken our possession that we even shamefacedly suggeste that perhaps the blacks are in an earlier stage of human evolution and merit only accrues to the Whites. Even if we take this argument as true for the purpose of discussion would it not be our bounden duty to bring our black brothers to our level.Would you consider a race between an athelete with a weakling fair unless you first equalise the opportunity for winning. One of the way would be to give a headstart for the weakling to neutralise the strength of the competetior.Else the race would only be what they call a 'tamasha'.In India an understanding government has emphasised the need for special measures to briing the 'dalit'-the backward castes on a par with the 'merit'.It is to the eternal credit of the democratic credentials of the Indian people that even in pre-Independence days while they opposed the upliftment of the dalit it was not on account of any arguments of their being subhuman in any way . The arguments were based on traditions. Can we Americans with all our pretentions to democratic tradition afford to do it and that too almost after a century? Supposing for a moment that the blacks are not upto the mark was it not our responsibility to improve their grades? And we talk of equal opportunity!

Ok, then maybe we should have the NAAWP (National Association for the Advancement of White People). Oh yea, I bet that would go over big. Or White History Month.
I don't think of myself as racist and you shouldn't either but at some point we all have to get past this. Why not start now until waiting for that Utopian society of the future in which all things are perfect.
As Ghandi said 'We must be the change we want to see in the world.'
I think we all, including Whites, Blacks, Asians, whatever, could start, individually, doing that now and little by little make a difference.

I've heard of being confused but not confussed. Also, geese are birds. Rasist? There must be a new BA degree-Innovative Spelling. Did you ever take American history? I believe it's one of the requirements for high school graduation.

First, you're "racist," not "rasist." Second, they exist because back in the day, Blacks were not admitted to most if not all colleges that had a primarily white student body. So, if they wanted to go to college, they had to form their own. Many of their parents and grandparents, etc. have gone to one and so they wish to continue the family tradition. Remember "separate but equal?"

Come on now, Whitey owes blackie 40 acres and a mule. Blackie has been repressed so now blackie needs hand outs.
Black folks are the most racist people on this planet period. If you listen to black politicians, or black comedians you'll see they are bigot pigs.
I just read a book by a black man called 10 things you can't say in America by Larry Elder. He makes a lot of points including that black folks are the most racist people ever. They cry, they whine, and they keep on playing the victim until they get free hand outs and other things.

Let's go back in history... Nazi Germany.... Now, the German Government pays Holocaust Survivors a small dividend to compensate for their suffering. Black were repressed in this country for many years, slavery and inequality- Rosa Parks, etc. Perhaps that is why there are government programs and assistance geared towards the Black Community.

I don't mean to be rude, but you need to go back to middle school and learn how to spell and write. I had to read your question three times to understand it.
I understand the programs and I say, about time.
The white schools are not doing a very good job on you. Perhaps you should look into a transfer.

Ok your'e not RACIST, but regardless with your spelling I doubt you could pass an entry exam and what makes it worse is that Yahoo provides you with spell check which you still didn't use.
As for your question, it is an attempt to rectify inequality practices that existed until the mid 1960's for women and minorities where education and quality jobs were denied to them. What you feel now is what women and minorities have felt for a long time..It sucks doesn't it?

Well let's see. You misspelled racist and confused which indicates to me that you may need to go back and take spelling and grammar classes. Until you are smart enough to fill out a scholarship application on your own, you really shouldn't complain. In case you didn't know there is a new invention called spellcheck.
