Homophobic and racist are both the same (FEAR OR HATE)of people. I do not dislike, hate or fear anyone but I do dislike the actions of some people.I think that homosexual is a chose, race is not.
Please all you haters of people who do not approve of homosexuals ,do not respond.
Just as you have your chose of who you, like so do I.Or what you believe in,so do I.
No person calling them-self Christian can approve of homosexuals or they call the WORD OF GOD a lie.
I am a Christian. I would never be mean or harm a person who is a homosexual-----but The Bible said if you approve then you are one.

One is a strong dislike of people of other races, the other is a fear of humans (homo=human, phobic=fear).
However, I believe in this case you mean the "fear" of homosexuals, a term used rather loosely in this politically-correct age.
While it is ignorant to believe that one race is better than another (a thought that derives from evolutionary theory), it is also ignorant to ostracize and label those who do not agree with a particular lifestyle.
I will admit that some who oppose the gay lifestyle display inappropriate behavior (and sometimes beyond), but to categorize anyone who disapproves of homosexuality or refuses to accept it as normal into the same group is just as bad as being racist.

Racism just deals with looking at someone from the outside and hating them before you even walk up to them. Being homophobic is looking at a person for just being gay and wanting nothing to do with them, regardless of their race.

Racists don't like people that aren't the same race as they are (come from a different country, have a different skin color, or have a different ancestry), and homophobes are afraid of or don't like homosexuals (gays and lesbians).

Race tends to be inherent to a certain set of physical and or social characteristics that are inherent to a group of people from a certain place. Homosexuality can touch any race, regardless of physical or social characteristics or place of origin.
So the difference is one hates based on race, and one hates due to sexual preference, which can be homosexual no matter your race.

They are different forms of bigotry. One is a prejudice against race; the other against sexual orientation.

Racism is social discrimination by race. Homophobia is the fear of homosexuals. A person can be both or just one of those. Both judge people with generalizations.
