Drinking Age 18
To Vote 18
Drivers License 18
Consent for Sex (I don't know about your state, but in Indiana it's still 16) 16
Buy Drinks 18
Consent for purchases and legal forms 18
Go to war 18 (if you get all the good stuff, you get the bad too)
Legally responsible for yourself 18 (now, tried as an adult? any age, if you can commit a murder, you can stand trial)
Honestly, 18 is a good age to take responsibility for yourself. It is silly that you can't drink, but you can go to war. At 18, you should've at least graduated high school, so you've got a standard education. You should be able to conform to basic rules. After that age, it's all you, buddy.

Based on my experience, I'll probably shock you all.
As I was brought up somewhere, where as a 6 year old I could walk into our pub with an open container, and have it filled up with beer without question or raised eyebrows, forget the age limit on alcohol.
I have never known the fascination kids here have with alcohol, because it was not forbidden. And of course I would take a swallow on the way home. Big deal.
Next, even when I was 5 and six, my mother would ask me, have you ever smoked a cigarette? If you ever feel like it, we can have one together, you don't have to sneak them. So, I NEVER started smoking.
Next driving. After getting to Canada at age 15, I immediately got practice driving and got my drivers license before turning 16. As soon as I turned 16 I got my professional drivers license and at 17 was a driving instructor.
When my daughter turned 11, I taught her to drive, and she became an excellent driver. No problems. BTW, she also does not nor has ever smoked, and drinking, she'll have a social one, but that's more for the company than because she wants it.
Compared to that, my nephew would get drunk any time he got his hands on anything.
When he turned 21, his father took him out for his first legal drink. He has hardly touched any alcohol since, lost interest.
So, it's our stupid laws that makes drunks out of our kids...
It's the 'forbidden' fruit that screws things up.
I think that all the other age limits would have to be evaluated based on these findings.
Watcha think about THAT? ;-) :-)

I think soldiers in the military should be allowed to drink at the age of 18. Keep it 21 for everyone else.
The laws regarding statuatory rape differ state to state and by the age of the participants. Oddly enough, it's ok for a 14-year old to sleep with a 19-year old in several states. I would definitely change that so that the lower age has to be higher, such as 16-years old.
I agree with being18 to get a driver's license.

14 is a good age for people to be leagally responsible for their actions...
16 - 18 for a junior license with restrictions on how many passengers allowed...
Keep it simple with 18 for everything else, even to become a president!

Excellent question.
I think most of these things you should be 25. Driving, maybe 18. It's amazing how much you're brain is still developing up until you're in your early twenties.
Peace.
