this phrase has been around for years and is meant to make one think before they act.
If you analyze some of the quick witted answers you've received so far, they assume that the question implied that 'he who knows the most' meant he knew everything....

on the contrary; he who knows the most, knows his limits but is always learning. He who knows the least will have a harder time learning what the other already knows.

He who knows best already knows that knowing the least is a disadvantage so he has already learned not to be the least knowldegeable person. He who knows the least; will not know he may be the least knowledgeable person because he doesn't know how to be the person who knows the most to figure it out!

So in essence, the answer is a never ending circle of doubt but has really some true meaning; which is that we should all think before we act and get a good perception of what the problem is before we speak so as not to assume everything and mis the 'little things' in between!

how's that for a puzzling answer to a puzzling question?.....
no I'm not a know-it all, just a mostly know-it!....
ha,ha,ha really enjoyed this question!

depends. It could be true. If it were phrased: he who thinks he knows most knows least it would be absolutely true, or he who knows all knows nothing... sorry, rambling... but i would say it was true. If you think you know most, you'll stop looking for answers and therefore you will know least because you will no longer have the cuiosity that made know so much... does that even make sense...?

Yes, because the world is always changing, and most of the time there's always more to know. In practical matters however you do have to make decisions so at some point you have to limit the incoming information. I think it's the ego involvement that most people object to

Not sure, but what it may mean is that if we're smart, we never stop learning from the day we're born till the day we die. Anyone who says they know it all, obviously doesn't.

Yep. Those who think they know everything usually are so set in their ways they don't realize just how much they don't know.
