Menstruation is the shedding of the thickened lining of the uterus after your body decides it's not pregnant. The cycle is the time between the first day of your mentrual period, avg is 28 days, or one lunar month. Ovulation, or the release of an egg, generally happens 14 days after you menstrual period starts, but the two are not always in sync with each other.

Why don't people ask their folks these kinds of questions? If they are too embarrassed, why don't you look it up in the dictionary for heaven's sake! It is when a female starts producing eggs to be fertilized so that it is possible for her to become pregnant.

If you are going to be rude then don't be on yahoo answers. Whether or not she is embarassed to ask her parents shouldn't matter, it's not your problem. So either answer the question or don't, we should just be happy she comes here and asks, after all isn't that what yahoo answers is for??
