I had that problem once. When I was a teenager I think. I must have grown out of it... I used to have problems saying things in shops too. My sister had the same problem. Always a particular word or phrase. I used to go in a fish and chips shop and order cod and chips, because I couldn't say fish and chips! lol We are all a bit weird - don't worry about it. Looking in the mirror and saying, "Oh, **** - is that me"; is bad - but you get that when you're a bit older usually. Unless, you're a teenager with an enormous zit the size of a mountain on your nose......

my real name is very different, so I am used to having to say it over and over again to people so they can pronounce it correctly.
But I never noticed that I say it with a slight smile! that was very interesting to try.

Try saying your own name over and over really slowly and it'll stop sounding like a real word at all, you'll start thinking your name isn't real! Funny thing language...

I don't have that problem. I like me name, its got a nice flow when you say both my first and middle names together.

see sometimes when i say my own name i hear it and i dont blieve that that is it cos it sounds weird and i dont often say it does that make me weird?

its a case of being self conscious, and with that name you have every right to be, change it and your whole attitude will change with it
