I understand that mankind has always been image oriented. It's nothing new but I just can't help but notice how more obsessed people have become with image now. Every commercial I see on television is about losing weight, becoming beautiful, growing hair, coloring hair, clothing, make up, muscle training, etc. The list just goes on and on.

I can't help but feel like I'm trapped in a society that no longer cares about substance but only for the easily changed and shallow surface of things.

Thanks for your question. But I have to put on my Armani suit, Rolex, & Italian leather loafers; get into my air conditioned Beamer and drive to my Coastal mansion on the California coast to pick up my brand new celly/Palm pilot with plasma screen so I can be the first in my development to have one! So I don't think I'd have time to answer this. But I don't think that you are correct.

Note the Sarcasm.

Where the hell have you been?! Yes everything is based on superficial bullshit! Part of it too is people are becoming more health conscious;more aware! More and more people are deciding to watch what they eat so they don't climb the scales in atrocious numbers. That includes me! There is no way in hell I'd want to top 133 lbs, at 5'6 why would I?

And what is the flavor of the week?

When children dying in Lebanon and Darfur mean nothing but we are in Day 110 of NO PICTURES OF BABY SURI, something is seriously out of whack with our standards.

Yes, we are and have been living in an age of superficiality for decades. If its not looks its money or fame or power.
