if you ar 37 weeks, you may be in labour, but more likely the bump dropping is simply the head engaging, and this causes the backache, due to the sudden shift in position. It does make you feel a little 'off'.

I think you are just at the final stages of preparation, I know its bloody tiresome at this stage, and the weather cant be helping, but it wont be long now, even if you go overdue its only a maximum of 5 weeks to go, so chin up!

It sounds like what you're describing is the baby "dropping." Meaning the baby is descending further into the pelvis to prepare himself for birth. This typically happens a few weeks before you go into labor, but you could go into labor at any time now.

In my experience, I woke up in the middle of the night, and most of what I assume was the mucus plug came out. I didn't think anything of it, I went back to bed, and four hours later, I awoke, and my bag of waters was gushing all over! My contractions didn't even start for another hour. (It typically doesn't happen this way, most women will be in labor for a while before their water breaks.)

Good luck to you, and hang in there! I know the last few weeks are the WORST! You get so anxious. Congratulations on your baby. :o)

Well, I woke up at 4am with period pains - and they were so uncomfortable that i couldnt go back to sleep.
I had clear "shows" for the last few days, and a blood stained one a few hours before birth.
You also get the urge to clean everything in sight! Also, you cant walk far as your bump feels soo heavy and its as if baby`s going to drop out - so you`re scared to walk!
All women feel different, but I now really miss the kicking inside me - so enjoy it while you can!

Good luck!
Baby will come when its good and ready!

With my first son i had a really bad back ache i didn't know at the time but was a sign of labour, call your midwife if you have a feeling something is happening you know if something is not right but remember all labours are different. Good luck.

You should have a few more weeks in you yet! I had days like that towards the end and I convinced myself more than once I was going into labour but 9/10 it turned out to be trapped wind!!! I was convinced I was brewing nothing but a big fart!

sorry love its hard to tell; i felt like this from 38 weeks to 42 weeks. The last month was awful for me as i had no energy and slept all day, but couldn't sleep at night. My sister felt like this one afternoon (she was 36 weeks) and by 9pm that day she went into labour! All you can tell is that the baby is getting ready to be born, but only he/she knows when it will be!

Yes, sounds like it's going to happen soon - although not straight away.

Are you nesting? This is a sure sign (when you feel an overwhelming need to tidy and clean up). Pre-labour signs also include vomiting - well, mine did.

Good luck xx
