Hello, today is my due date and no baby yet. I'm sure all the old wives tales (castor oil, nipple stimulation) may not be the best way to go but I simply have NO PATIENCE! my question I guess is what, if any are some safe ways to induce labor? :)

I was a week overdue. I think these old wives tales are just silly. They really dont work at all!
I tried going over road humps in the car and that seemed to bring on labour for my last baby!
To be honest, the baby will come when it wants to.
The only thing i can suggest is to be active as much as possible and when you get tired, put your feet up with a nice hot cup of tea!

Good Luck!

Anything out there are just Old wive's tales. Nothing is guaranteed to actually bring on labor. A lot of these old wives tales started because someone did something and their labor happened to start so they think it actually brought on labor. The baby will come when it is ready.

First of all, congrats!!I think there is nothing you can do about your labor except be prepared and hope for it to come.CAll your doctor and see whats going on,your best bet it that your child will be late or will come later in the day.And btw if you're gonna have a child(which you obviously are)you're gonna need patience

Having sex.My friend was over due and the doctor told her to go home and have sex. She did and went into labor the same night. It has something to do with the sperm thinning out the cervix or something close to that. Im not sure but it worked for her.

The only safe and effective way is medicine given to you in the hospital. Have patience. Once you have your baby, you will wish at times that your baby was still inside your womb when life was easier.

I read an article in a women's magazine that investigated women's birth stories, and a significant number said that eating spicy food brought on labour.

These could be a set of weird coincidences, but it's worth a try!

My husband took me for a ride in our pick up truck over a bumpy road, I was a month over due. It must of helped but I was in labor for three days, wouldn't recommend it. Congratulations !

DO NOT TAKE CASTOR OIL!!!!! I MEAN IT !!!!

It can make you poop but it can also make the baby poop. the baby can asperate poop and that's just not good.

There is prosteglandins in sperm, go for sex

and realize YOUR BABY KNOWS WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT !!!! and trust me- you will miss being pregnant :)

You need to talk to your OB doctor about ways to bring on labor.

the only truly safe way to induce labor is to have a physician do it....your doctor will tell you when and if he decides to induce...listen to him/her...they truly do know best...childbirth is such a precarious act...
