Sylvester McCoy, hands down, he's shows the darker side of the doctor at times, also you start to learn a tiny bit more about the doctor during his time, especially in silver nemesis, when lady peinfort says she knows who he is.
and just as you think you can figure out WHO he is, all you need is a few more clues from his past, the bbc went and axed it which was really annoying.

Out of the last 2, Christopher Eccleston, mainly because he had the right mixture of mentality and humour to kind of make the series believable. David Tennant is rubbish compared to him and should have stuck to Casanova! All time favourite though is Tom Baker, just the voice to suit the part, hard to describe it, but "the voice" seems to work on Little Britain too!

I thought Christopher Eccleston was a good doctor, one of the best till David Tennant came along, now I would follow him anywhere chronologically or geographically.......... So very sexy and the Scottish accent mmmmmm to die for.

Having seen the first episode in 1963 at the age of 13 and having watched the programme ever since I prefer the original doctor the one and only William Hartnell. My least favourites (and this is just for me no disrespect to anyone else's opinion) were Tom Baker and Sylvester McCoy.

Jon Pertwee. But the series wasn't great as the BBC couldn't afford the Tardis' special effects. Otherwise known as the 'earth-bound' doctor.

You lot, you're all too young! The very best was William Hartnell. He had a mysterious other-worldly look about him. The fact he was a very old man made him seem really creepy! Try and catch one of the first series and see what I mean!
