The left and right click take turns not working. Anybody know why?

I have owned an HP Pavilion dv4000 laptop for about a year now, and for some reason, the right and left clicks choose to not work. The mouse pad works fine (for now..) and I've tried using those products that blow little particles out of the keyboard, but that doesnt seem to be the problem either. Any suggestions would be VERY helpful.

Get a new mouse. They're very cheap.

yes, get a new mouse ,it is more easy and cheap
