Don't know what Donna is on about.

The Answer is 11.

City area codes can be either 3, 4 or 5 digits longs. The individual telephone number is then either 8, 7 or 6 digits respectively.

Examples:

A London number: 020 71234567
A Birmingham number: 0121 1234567
A mobile number: 07777 123456

The total (inc. Area code), is ALWAYS 11.

If you are calling within a city you can ignore the area code. If you are calling from one city to another you must include the area code. If you are calling from or to a mobile you must include the area code. If you are calling from overseas you must include the area code but ignore the leading zero.

A sheffield number begins with the area code 0115, then has 7 other numbers. Eg. 0115 1234567.
