Infections aren't only caused by sexual activity, it can be alot of things, and they're things you can do to avoid them (clean, wipe from front to back after going to the toilet, ect), but one thing to be sure is that infections tend to itch or burn too. If you don't know what it is the best is to see a doc about it, if you don't have insurance the free clinic can also help you out.
My girlfriend had a UTI, she went to see a doc, within 5 days it was cured.

Are you referring to your entire pubic area as your vagina? The external areas are NOT the vagina (that is only the passage from the outside of your body to your cervical opening through which the baby passes as well as your menses).
If you're cleansing the external area with anti-bacterial soap daily, you should be ok - it could just be that you're sweating and it's making odor (similar to your underarm odor).
However, some people can get a yeast infection, which is an imbalance of the vaginal (internal) bacteria population. Douching is a BIG culprit in someone who doesn't have sex. There's NO need to douche; your body cleanses itself naturally all the time. So if you are douching, stop.
If you continue to have a problem, seek the help of a gynecologist. Only he or she can diagnose your problem and offer effective treatment. We here on Answers (as a general whole) are not trained medical professionals!

you don't have to be sexually active to get an infection there . . . swimming, wearing damp clothes, the wrong kind of underwear that promotes sweating in the area . . all of these can lead to one . . see your gynecologist to determine what you have so it may treated . . untreated infections can lead to more harmful things
