A woman is often measured by the things she cannot control. She is measured by the way her body curves or doesn't curve, by where she is flat or straight or round. She is measured by 36-24-26 and inches and ages and numbers, by all the outside things that don't ever add up to who she is on the inside. And so if a woman is to be measured, let her be measured by the things she can control, by who she is and who she is trying to become. Because every woman know, measurements are only statistics and STATISTICS LIE

I agree, but only to a point. See, men are judged as well, and increasingly on things which they cannot control either. Men are objectified more and more. Perhaps it has not reached the level to which women have been objectified historically by the traditionally patriarchal societies, but objects nonetheless, and on the rise.
Even more, men are judged on things which are not, as you put it, 'on the inside' either. Often, we are judged based upon the amount of money we have, what car we drive, and the amount of power we are seen to wield. Is this a good criteria for measuring a person?
I feel ultimately that people should be measured based upon their actions and what they can control. Women and men are both unfairly estimated, just in different ways. Don't feel I'm disagreeing with your feministic argument, I'm not-- but it's a broader social issue (and one which seems to have been around since the dawn of civilization).

Well, people aren't trying to be fair, it's human nature. Human beings weren't put on thsi world to give everyone a fair chance, we want what's best. so men and women learned to look for things, hipos that could bear children, men with thick hair are more fertile etc. Out of that after thousands of years came fashion, an extension or change of these ideas that we ascribe to instead. But they're still physical becasue that's what we've been looking at for ever. Imagine people back in the Stone Age, perhaps before meaningful comversation and awkward dates. They had to make split decisions. and attractiveness matters to us.
Today it's hard to shrug off thigns like that. and though we may have evolved socially stil lthink about it: You can choose someone by personality and be stuck with things you can't change. Or secretly you hold out for the perfect personality in the perfect physical package. If you do find someone that measures up physically, you can subtley change or get used to the personality if it doesn't quite measure up.
The world isn't designed to be fair is all I'm trying to say

No matter how much we women would like men to look predominantly on the inside, the fact remains that men are very visual beings. While this is unfortunate in some ways, it's just the way they are wired. And many men do try to look beyond that. Also, as women, we are not totally blameless either. I find that we can be just as superficial as men...more, in some cases. Yes, it's frustrating when you're standing in public near a drop dead gorgeous blonde with long legs and big breasts and that sweet guy whom you've had your eye on goes straight for her, practically pushing you out of the way...but such is life. And perhaps, if you would just smile, thrust your shoulders back and move on instead of scowling with vile hatred at the blonde (it's not her fault she's pretty), some guy might notice that and give you a second look. No one wants to date someone with a perpetual frown on their face...
This turned into an unnecessarily long blab about very little.

People have these mundane sensual pleasures that they cant control. Actually sensual enjoyment is the root cause of all the bad happenings in this world. Wether it be for money, land, or trying to be little wanna-be lords. If you havent noticed your senses are never going to satisfy you. It will always be asking for you to try more and more stuff..which makes you think that you'll find some happiness there. When acutally you wont. The answer is, is to use it appropriately in the loving service to the Lord Himself. The eyes, ears, mouth, nose, tounge AND genitals(developing God-concious kids instead of more mundane people) can all be used to serve the Supreme, which is our natural function, loving servants of the Lord. Thats where REAL happiness is found.

I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It isnt right, but im still growing so I have a little bit of hope but what about girls who are in my situation? IT isnt right how guys judge girls on their ***, CHEST, HIPS, AND FACE.... most guys dont even deserve a good looking girl. What I dont get is why every guy thinks they deserve a "dime piece"? if everyone was 36-24-36 we would all be the same, no variety and just boring! Some guys dont even think like that, some only measure girls on their attitude and how they CARRY themself.

Its basicly because men are visual and woman are audio.
Its the same thing with sex for the most part. men have to be drawn first to looks and attraction but they do eventually come around to substance that is why you will see alot of men in their 20s with skinny girls but will see men in their 30s with woman who may be over weight.
Because they do eventually learn that there is more to a person then looks.

That is how society works... You can't understand how much is changed if you don't start with some type of measurement and the go back and measure again to see if things have changed.

Well the actual men out there judge on far more. And the boys that judge based on the other things are not some one who you would probably want to waste your time on.

Because society and the media continually portray barbie type images as being the norm. They are constantly bombarded with urealistic images that tell them this is how we should be when we know in fact it is not true for the majority of girls over 16.
