i wasnt popular in school, and then moved away. I have my boyfs family, but i have no friends around here. Ive lived here for ages and ive got no mates to go out with. Ive tried being friendly with everyone, but noone is interested.

Why some people are popular and others are not has never made much sense to me. Just keep in mind that it doesn't automatically mean anything bad about you. Try joining activities where you have the chance to meet people of similar interests (yoga class, book clubs, etc.). In the meantime, I'm sending you positive vibes. Good luck.

How old are you? I've moved away from everyone for OH's job, and I've been here a year and don't really know anyone. The one think I've found best for meeting people is joining a gym, made a couple of almost-friends there. Also, do you work? I know how hard it is to meet people, just keep going! Maybe a club or something? A book club - something like that?

Maybe you should meet up with your friends once a month, if they are too far away, and go to local places where you might meet more people.
You could always join a gym somewhere. If you like animals, why don't you offer a dog walking service? That way you'll get to meet a lot of people. Offer to help out at a residential home. It's a way of meeting people.
You say people don't like you much yet you have 6 friends at least. They like you.

Do you want to be friendly and liked? Maybe a career change if that is not going well, where you deal with people individually and can possibly form relationships there.

My only advice to you would be just be yourself. Do not worry about if people like you or not. You can not be friends with everyone and you can not make everyone happy. So continue to just be you and screw them.
