I only hang around people that make me comfortable and some people make me uncomfortable. I do not talk to or hang around with these people yet other people say I'm racist for not talking to or hanging out with those people. I think ultimately that other people's "thinking" or thoughts should stay in their head.

I truly believe that we hang around with those that we have the most in common with. Usually it just so happens that those we connect with and chose to hang around have had similar back rounds and experiences as us. We have more in common with people of the same race. I don't think that is racist. Its human.

Go with a few of the "other people" you mention and hang out with this "type." Do this in a place where you could leave easily and unobtrusively. I think you'll be surprised. You're missing out on A LOT by ignoring 50% of the population. You never know what you could learn, who you could meet, what job you could find out about or, most importantly, the fact that you really LIKE this "type." If you're staying away from them because they're not exactly like you - you ARE a racist.
