Why is when we see a sign saying wet paint the first thing we do is touch it with our finger.
What should be written on the sign to keep us off ?

Blondie,I do think your suggestion would stop people touching the paint but just a little extreme perhaps !

my mate used to think wet paint was an instruction and wee all over it.

Curiosity killed the cat no matter what you write someone will always always touch it.
But if you had the same sign and alongside the sign a huge big person screaming that he would break all your fingers if you touched it i think you would leave it alone, Dont you?

The signs are usually out of date but if timed and dated may be more respected.

Human nature bro- Every 1 always has a habit to decline that phrase; "seeing is believing" so its also a psychological response Once a person can' t believe on what he's seeing > then trying to touch . Further more > Pinch / Rub / Knock or strike,.,.,,.,,.,.{*-^},.,

When someone tells it not to touch something we all do it just to check.
It like when someone says thats hot but you still eat/drink and end up burning you mouth

"Electrified".
That would probably put me off. Or:
"Touch this and 10 rabid wolves will chase you down, rip you to pieces and crunch your bones".
Maybe that is a little extreme...
