Is that just a myth, or is it really true? I heard that it was an urban legend, and the producer for the Ohio Players denied it all, but he could be lying.
Have you ever heard the scream in their song? If so, what do you think about it? Who do you believe?

I think thats a bunch of crap urban legend.
I grew up in the era in which that song was produced and I can tell you that would be an outrageous accusation for the 70's.
I have heard the song about 2 million times and can not identify any such audio.

i was a teen when that song came out and that was all you heard
was that story being passed around. it was a cool song and i had it on a record so we would listen to it over and over. the best i could figure was it was just background sounds of an actual amusement park/rollercoaster just to enhance the music theme. the urban legend that i heard was that someone was actually killed on the rollercoaster during the taping of the song but that it very doubtful since they are usually taped in a studio

I cant say for sure weather its real or an urban legend, but i can say that if you listen closely it doesnt sound at all like someone on a rollercoaster!!! The scream is so blood-curdling and far offset into the background, it doesnt seem plausable that any producer would edit it into that song and that it would sound so far off.....

Urban legend. It is too implausible on many levels.
This site is great for myth-busting.
