Pirates II: Dead Man's Chest. It's got its moments...Swashes are buckled, so to speak, but it's not the visually colorful romp the first film was. It is definately a darker story, not just visually, but mood and humor-wise as well. But it's still a fun film and very enjoyable. The CGI is fantastic and fluid.
There are going to be three Pirate films. Think of this one as the "Empire Strikes Back" of the Pirate films, lots of cliff hangers, and a somewhat scarier mood. Hope this helps.

I seen it and it was worth every penny.

There was more action in it then the first, but I must admit that it took from the story a little bit. I felt that it focused more on glamorizing the returning main characters, and that overshadowed the story itself.

Some fighting scenes were useless, but comical. Elizabeth is more of a two-timing tomboy, Jack is more serious, and Will is kind of a thug.

They could have left the commandor out. His character parted gracefully in the first, and they should have left it like that.

I liked how they brought back all the somewhat minor characters and gave them somewhat major roles - the two comic relief pirates, the evil monkey, the 3 Black Pearl members, Commodore Norrington, Bootstrap Bill, and...lets call him "the guy at the end".
That was the best part.

Yes and it was an excellent movie, although the waterwheel scene was waaaaaay overdone. A question though, SPOILER TO OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN MOVIE, how did Barbossa come back from the dead? Didn't Jack shoot him when Will cut himself on the Aztec gold and Barbossa became mortal again???? Can't wait for World's End.

The movie stunk. I mean really stunk. I wanted my money back. It jumped all over the place, didn't flow and didn't build strong characters. I know I am alone on this, but I really hated it. I liked Johnny Depp, Kiera Knightly and Orlando Bloom, but there wasn't enough of a story.

Omg! I LOOOVED IT! My fave part is when that Large Squidlike thing comes out of the sea to engulf a ship. Too Cool! And that steamy scene with Captain Jack and Elizabeth. And who could forget Davy Jones's face? Swashbuckling sequel!

I liked the fact that Orlando Bloom almost had his shirt off. Oh yeah, and anything at all about Capt Jack.
