I know it's early but I just purchased tickets to go home for the Holidays and it got me thinking.

My favorite Christmas ornament is the ones that I helped put on the tree as a child. My siblings & I use to fight (argue) over which one of a ceramic (bone china) set of 12 little bell ornaments we would put up with my parents help. They were only 2" tall, & had a Santa (which was the major one we fought over), Santa's wife, Rudolf,& some angels/carolers/elves. We loved the tinkle each bell made. My parents still have them minus one which broke! Now my siblings & I will fight over who inherits them. Ha Ha
The one other favorite is the 1st ornament I bought for my parents. A female ballet dancer that twirls. I was so proud of my choice & so happy to give it to them.
You see, any ornament that has an emotional, sentimental attachment, reminding us of our innocent youth tends to be the most precious! I know, I'm just an ole' softie.

Probably sounds a little stupid but I bought this Dolphin ornament for my tree a few years back and I just love it. The ball is silver with the middle part hollowed out with a blue dolphin in there. I am not very good at describing it but it is cool.

One tiny silver ball, that has been with me for at least 50 of my 54 years. When I was little, my sister and I were allowed to hang our own ball in the tree. We still had real candles in it then.

When I got married, and we got a place of our own, my mother gave it to me to take along to our own tree, and even though many of the ornaments we bought late broke, this one is still with me.

A silver-colored glass pine cone that my father remembers from when he was a child. It must be about 90 years old. The paint is flaked off in spots but it's still very precious to me.
