I bought The Razors Edge on the strength of this song and I listened to it religiously for about a year. I was 14 and it was the first album I ever bought. Absolutely loved it. Then I got turned on to Bon's stuff and Powerage from 1978 is the best ac/dc album to me. Its the dog's bollocks! So I forgot about The Razors edge until recently when I got my first ipod and felt obliged to get all of their albums. Listening to Thunderstruck at 30 doesnt have the same effect on you like it does when you're 14. It's a time and a place I think, but that's my own personal experience. A couple of beers down the local pub can change my opinion though. That happened recently. Pissed as a fart and Thunderstruck came on the jukebox. At that moment it was the best song ever! Ah aha ah aha ah ah THUNDER......!

That song means so much to some people, i remember a guy from south africa telling me how he ran home after buying it and ringing all his mates to go and buy it cos at that time AC/DC were looking like they were on the way down due to their lame last two albums blow up your video and fly on the wall just didnt have it, so for me Thunderstruck was the rebirth of AC/DC in 1990 and it sounded so good. Thunderstruck is a great track and is the best on razors edge, you cant expect the band to produce albums like their classics without Bon but one things for sure you will always have at least one classic track on any album.

The first four tracks on "The Razor's Edge" are all good (Thunderstruck, Fire Your Guns, Moneytalks and the title track). But 16 years on Thunderstruck doesn't quite have the same "bite" to it as it did (unlike Back in Black, Highway To Hell, Dirty Deeds..., Shot Down In Flames, or a host of other great songs which haven't lost their edge over the years)..

RIP Bon Scott.

Additional: -

That single string riff which Angus plays in Thunderstruck carries on up until Brian Johnson sings the line "The sound of the drums. They're beating in my heart". Trying to play it is like repeating "Red lorry, yellow lorry". At some point I always end up playing a "Rellow rolly".

AC-DC were a great band but thunderstruck was their worst song it doesn't even look like their song.

Absolutely. And Hollywood and MTV agree. Look at movies like Varsity Blues, where the song was used prominently.

Of course it's a good song. There's no such thing as a bad song by AC/DC.
