They like to start seeing you around 8 weeks. You should already be taking prenatal vitamins though. They are sold over the counter. Congratulations.

Did you make sure to tell them that it was for a first pregnancy exam? I would call back and see if they can get you in sooner. 5 weeks is now, but Sept 5th is is still 4 weeks away......I think you should go sooner.......start by getting over the counter pre natal vitamins and start taking one each day ( with food helps, they can be rather stomach upsetting) and then Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting". It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

Sounds about right depending where your at and how busy it is. My first one i had midwifes and they were swamped It took me until my 17th week to get into them.
My second and the one i am currently pregnant with i live in a smaller town and got in about 6 weeks ish with both of them.
If your insurance covers the prenatal vitamins you can call their office and I am sure call you in a prescription until your first appointment. Or you can take 2 children's vitamins or normal vitamins.
Congtrats to ya and GL!!!!

You should get an appointment as soon as possible. If that is the soonest you can get in then just be sure to take some prenatal vitamins and start taking good care of yourself, it will be fine.
