Pyramids generally have four sides and are square. Even if not square you multiply one side's length by the other in yards, feet or metres and the result is the area.

If you need to find the area of the base, just use the formula for whatever shape is on the bottom.

For example, if the base is a triangle, it would be Length of the base times the width divided by two. For a rectangle, length of the base times the width, etc.
