Place a volt meter to the batteries positive and negitive cables while the car is running. If the voltage is 13.9 to 14.9 volts the alternator is charging if it's lower it's not charging if it's over the range it's overcharging! UM no charge for this info Lol

Well most of the time if the amperage goes lower than what the car uses the battery light comes on when you are driving. Check connections at the battery and at the back of tha alternator and make sure they are good and tight. Also a bad battery will give you false readings at the alternator. If all that is good go to your nearest autozone they can check it on the car

Well if your alternator is bad everything electrical will go nuts in your car/truck when the battery is dieing as you go down the road. To have it checked go to your nearest autoparts store and they will check it for free.

simple, start your car let it settle and carefully disconect the neg. pole, if the engine stays runing the alternator is working, now to it's full potential???????????? I don't know.

take it too any auto parts store, they will usually test it for free.
