I read a stat that says over 50% of women buy shoes that are a size too small. Is this true? If so, what are the reasons?

im a 7, but sometimes i buy a 6 or 61/2 if i really really like the shoes and they dont have my size

Yes... because the size is smaller than their purse. Most women will buy shoes because they saw that same pair being worn by another woman and they want to look just like the other person. Small shoes creates bunions and corns..... most women will pass over comfort for style and price [something to brag about].

I heard Asian women like little shoes because they think small feet are pretty.
I buy my shoes just right and 1/2 size larger for athletic shoes.

As we have extensive experience working in a shoe boutique, we the ShoeBitches have found that women tend to buy shoes a size or half size to large. We have even done this ourselves several times.

no way, when i buy my shoes i buy them to fit with a little extra room for comfort. woman should know that a shoe too small will soon make ugly cones on the side of their feet. to the shoe salesman, please stop telling thses women that they were a size 7 when they wear a 8 1/2 lol...... i dislike to see a woman heel over lapping the back of a shoe. or her toe pushing out the side just to breath. lol

You answered your own question. They think it makes their feet look smaller, but it does the opposite. Just like wearing clothes that are too small. Unless you are incredibly lean and fit, seeing rolls of fat hanging over pant waists, under bras, or squishing out arm holes is not attractive. It makes you look like you are not intelligent enough to dress yourself properly.

no i dont wear a size smaller, mine is 5 which itself is sometimes difficult to get... but surely a smaller size would hurt ur feet...if any1 does that i cant imagine how do they manage it

I never do. My feet HURT and it is just not worth it. Unfortunately, i wear a 10, so those fashionable pointy ones are out.
