This is a big pet peeve of mine. Does anyone else relate with me? I normally just smile and or graciously thank them but inside I am very annoyed.
Here is an example: I asked a guy that I worked with if he knew a good place to purchase health suppliments at cheap prices. He recommended a place that may have it and I thanked him. He then continued to explain to me that I could call them and see if they carried and IF they carried I could ask how much it was. I just smiled at him.
I know this is petty but it is so annoying to me. Any ways to explain to people that their "advice" is not necessary without coming across as rude or arrogant? Sometimes I think people are so used to dealing with idiots that they treat everyone that way.

You are 100% correct; I hate it when people believe they can intimidate me with their usless speeches of such longevity, it nearly puts me to sleep. I will usually say, "just forget it, I don't really need to know." When people attempt to overbear in this rude and arrigant manner, I believe they are lonely and rarely have anyone to talk to.

As far as the Health Supplement advice, you've got his long number, so avoid Q's with him. But with unsolicited advice that is no one's business, I usually say, "While I appreciate your input, I really have to think this out for myself. But, thank you anyways for your kind concern."
