At what age did you watch The Exorcist?. Which one did you watch? The old 1973 one or the 2001 one?. I was 8, I heard about it because my mom told me she watched it with my grandma when she was 6 and she was traumatized, then my dad watched it in the movie theater, so I wanted to watch it, somehow I convinced my mom to buy the new version on 2001 (the dvd). She didnt let me watch it for weeks, I just stared at the hardcover and read the description. I never thought that the movie was going to be so horrible, I mean, the hardcover didn't look like it, and they didn't show anything in the trailer (that was freaky). So a couple of weeks after I bought it, I convinced her, and I watched it with my mom and dad, HOLY SH!T. I was 8 back then, I slept under my bed's sheets until I was 12, Im 14 now. I don't plan on watching it again.

I watched the old one when I was about 15, scared me to death. Thought I was gonna get possessed. I played with the Ouija board a lot until I saw that.
I watched the 2001 version when it came out- scary!!! That is probably the scariest movie -to me -of all time.

I was 11 and my mom told me about a movie that my dad saw in the theatre that made them sick to their stomach and that i should never watch it. well if you tell a child that they shouldnt do something, then they really want to. well i told some friends at school about it and a girl said that she had it. i went over to her house in the daytime and they put the movie in, i sat there and cried and cried my eyes out and they wouldnt turn it off or let me leave, they just laughed at how scared i was! i went home and didnt sleep for about a week and if i did fall asleep i would wake up suddenly with night sweats! it has been 12 years since i have seen that movie and i am still terrified of it. there is not a day that goes by that i dont wake up and think that girl is in my room, or get out of the shower and think she is standing there. i have been completely traumatized since that movie! i can handle ALL the gory, slasher movies, but that one has scared me for life!!!!

I saw the original when I was 14...have to say not only wasn't I scared, but I remember laughing at some of it...it's still a bit over the top nowadays, but back then it bordered on the absurd, and I was always a bit cynical...saw it on vid years later, thought it was perhaps a little better than I originally remembered it, but frankly I think it's a very overrated movie

I thought it was the funniest horror movie I have ever seen.

After watching Nightmare on Elms Street and all those other horror movies. This limped very sadly.

I was scared immensely though the Excorcist III: Legion.
Now that was a scary Exorcist movie.

I read the original book when i was about 11 or 12 my dad gave it to me. When I saw the movie I did not think it was scary at all. the book was much much more graphic, and scary. The movie was laughable in comparison. That is just my opinion though.

age 17, by accident. As part of a field trip for catholic high school, we were to go watch Heidi. But the projectionist put the wrong film on, so we watched the first 30 minutes.
