Smokey the bear cannot retire. He will always be the same age and we are relying on him. It would be like Santa Clause retiring.

Smokey is irreplaceable...he is the little bear injured by a humans carelessness with fire. Saved from the fire by the Forest Service he grows up to be the friendly Grizzly bear that teaches and reminds us to respect and care for the Forest...the home of our friends the animals.
But if I had to choose it would be "Mike the Mountain Lion" and he would eat anyone who screws up his Forest...cause he's tired of all those stupid humans.
Remember..."Only YOU can prevent Forest Fires."
