Turse and Nelson | Vietnam: The War Crimes Files
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/080606Y.shtml
"Just then, the voice of a lieutenant crackled across the radio. He reported that he had rounded up 19 civilians, and wanted to know what to do with them." Nick Turse and Deborah Nelson write, "Henry later recalled the company commander's response: Kill anything that moves."

Not surprising at all. Troops that have come back from Iraq are reporting the same things. They are going into homes and killing everyone regardless of who they are. Women, children, infants, everyone. Last time I checked that was a war crime. Were those babies terrorists or the people who kill them?

Not really. At least not from the "top". Of course, the "top" wasn't under fire, either. I do not condone what some of our guys did in Viet Nam and later, but I do understand it. The same young kids, both boys and girls, who shined your shoes or emptied your trash during the day were throwing frag grenades into tents at night and killing our guys. During that time, we didn't know who to trust. It didn't take much for some of our guys to get paranoid enough that they simply took out anyone who could potentially be an enemy. Obviously anyone who would ask this question has never been in combat, and is probably to chicken to actually serve his or her country in the military. Such cowards leave it to those of us who do have the courage to defend them.

Have you ever been in a war? If you haven't you have no clue what it's about. You something moves you damn well better shoot it before it shoot you. You live every day you are there like it's your last. You don't have the luxury of believe it's just another bright shiny day. You watch the guy you've known since the beginning have head brains splattered every where. Your sick and your scared and your angry. and in war **** happens. No matter how civilized we try to be war is not civilized.

Nothing wrong with that order. Sounds normal to me.
After you get shot at several times you would give that order also.

I would be willing to bet that the Asx that asked this question is not dry behind the ears, or else is too much of a coward to go into the service and help his country.

Only the cowards and those that have never been in a position like that speak against it... They ought to shut their frigging mouth .
Enough of that crap is enough. Either grow up or shut up.

Boy, how shocking is that???!!!! It's a war and people are throwing bombs at them day and night. They are being kidnapped and murdered as they try to cross a road. Should they wait until they are dead before trying to respond??

And to the airhead Bia Bia ....... learn a little more before making your idiotic responses.

Let me guess. You think the Vietnamese told it's troops to invite everyone they encountered to sit down and discuss their conflicting issues and enjoy dinner.

It was WAR!
