I agree with you. Actually, I ALREADY see homophobics as pathetic narrow-minded people who are afraid of the terrible ghosts society has put in their shallow sorry minds. And that's about the same as what I think of racists.

I think so. The bigots always suffer, sooner or later. The bigots always get pointed and sneered at in history, once society becomes enlightened.
My theory? Dominance/submission relationships are next. Right now, a dominant can be arrested for aggravated assault, domestic abuse, and rape, in cases even attempted murder (depending on the play), and a submissive can be arrested for being an accessory to THEIR OWN ASSAULT, as well as the other crimes. Someone's going to go down for having a D/s relationship and someone's going to notice a little too well, which is exactly what happened to bring this issue to the forefront. Then there'll be a slew of discussions whether this relationship is perverted, dominant and submissive will become new sexual orientations (cause generally it more or less defies gender), they'll find scientific things that make someone dominant or submissive, and there will be much debate over whether there should be provisions in the law for consensual assault, abuse, and rape. (Yes, you can have consensual rape, if someone really wants it but they're still saying no and fighting. This is a very common BDSM scene.)
Just my take on things. Everyone can draw their own conclusions.

If I were black, I would be insulted (and I know quite a few who are) by comparisons of what the black people had to go through to homosexuality. Sorry, but God never called being black an abomination.
How dare the homosexuals march around with their gay pride and gay rights and even suggest that what they deal with as a whole has anything to do with or is remotely similar to what the black people went through and fought for for many many years. It is sickening.
Yes, I know there have been cases where a person, because of being a homosexual has been abused and mistreated- I would NEVER support that. But I have a right not to rent out an apartment to a homosexual couple, just as a would not rent it out to a stright couple not married- it is immoral - I have a right to decide what standards I hold to and what I will and will not tolerate. It has NEVER been a sin to be black!

Hmm.. good question.. we must take into consideration several things.
first off, science.. as scientists are finding out that being gay is something you don't choose, people are begining to be more accepting of it.
secondly, it's more common. more and more people are coming out, and their family is accepting it, and people aren't as scared any more.
thirdly, the sub culture. as we continue to progress in this world, people are begining to accept others more and more.
however, there are some cons..
first - you have a huge islam population growing. nothing wrong with muslims AT ALL only they hate gays! :( :( islam is the fastst growing religion in america too, and i'm sure you can tell by going to the mall. [and no, i'm not saying that in a racial way.. just saying. i have nothing against muslims at all. muslims are great people, really.]
secondly, in other parts of the world you will see that gays aren't as accepted, but actually are getting hated more and more. take iran as a prime example. in the past 5 years, i believe that 4,000 gays have been hung,. and so forth.
it all depends. more and more people are accepting it, but also, there are others being more hostile.
i think it will be better in the future. i don't think we can compare it to the african americans, but i do think that gays will be more accepted.

Yes. I've seen many common things used, like that the Bible says and can't marry. They said that it was evil for a black person and white person to marry and that the Bible said so, which was a lie. Now they are trying the same thing with GLBTQ rights and issues. In years to come people will look back and wonder how they could be so wrong. Some of us see it now.

That's what I'm hoping for. I remember reading something awhile ago that went something like, "New human rights are never created, people just begin to accept more people as humans." And it's true, awhile ago people didn't see African Americans as humans deserving of equal rights, and then people started realizing that they were just like everyone else and just as deserving as rights. And now it's homosexuals' turn.

Thats exactly how its going to be. No wants to be called a racist now and in a few years no one will want to admit to being a homophobe. It just surprises me that people cannot see the connection here.

let me shed a little light on to this : the only person you will have to answer to is god he makes all decsions and rules all things if you are bisexaul , lebsian, rascist, gay , or just someone confused about certain things , you are the one who has to deal with it, you have to answer to him when that time comes only you so right now your focus should not be on what other people views are about the way you are living your life or how other people live thiers at the end of it all its going to be a reflection on you not anyone esle.. just had to get that off my chest people..

No, I think people are more concerned with whether or not they can make it financially month to month than they are with gays. Build a really strong bridge and get over it. What is "right" will prevail.
