As Lil' Dog said, on own colour. Thus, White Queen goes on left, Black on right. Red goes where the substituted colour would.

to get it correct - the white corner squares on a chess board go on the right hand side.
The queen sits on the square which is her own colour.
Get the board the right way round and you can't go wrong.

the queen always starts in her color, thats an easy way to remember it. and the corner square on the right should always be the white one.

The queen is placed on the square corresponding to her color. Light on light, dark on dark.

it depends. the queen is on the same colored square as her color, but if you're white then its left, but if you're black then its right. i dont mean youre skin color, but color of your pieces.
