A series by Charlaine Harris:
Living Dead in Dallas
Club Dead
Dead Until Dark - they are great fun

Also fantastic series by Laurell K. Hamilton about Anita Baker, Vampire hunter. Check Amazon for titles, I think there are 10 in the series now.

Also, not necessarily vampire but Carpe Demon; Adventures of a Demon-hunting Soccer Mom, by Julie Kenner That book is a blast!

Are you thinking of the author Susan Squires?

Good vampire novels include those by Laurell K Hamilton, Christine Feehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and T.A. Banks.

I don't know which author you're looking for, but Ann Rice's Vampire chronicles are brilliant.
The first one is Interview with a Vampire, but theres about 12 of them in total.

Check the name "Ann Rice" in the library author's list, and you'll find several. I assume you know about "Dracula" by Bram Stoker already-- the penultimate vampire book.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is great. I'm not sure which author you're trying to remember.

Perhaps this site can help you:
