Nope....she quit! thinking she will be a big deal now.....she got a little taste of stardom and now bites the hand that feeds her....she does do commercials (Nutrogena and etc)....The OC may only be around a year or so more anyway....they are off to college and what can they do ????

Mischa Barton is glad that her character in The O.C. was killed off instead of doing some kind of "lame farewell".

Barton's character, Marissa Cooper, dies in the arms of her boyfriend Ryan Atwood after he drives his sports utility vehicle off the road. The third season's closer aired in America earlier this week.

Barton told Newsweek magazine about her reaction to Marissa's departure from the show: "Well, I was really excited that I get to die, to be honest. I've done pretty much everything else with the character. It was better than one of those lame farewells."

Although rumours have been flying that Barton was ready to quit the show and move on, Mischa maintains that the decision to kill Marissa was taken by the show's producers.

"But I really think it's best to do movies now," said Barton, who co-stars with Hayden Christensen in Guilty Pleasures slated for release next year.

She also has other plans for her future career: "I was also thinking of spending a month in London, living there and taking a course in acting. Sometimes it's nice to go back to your roots."

You haven't seen the last season finale, have you? Marissa's dead. Dead, dead, dead. They wrote her off. She was killed in a planned car accident and died while in Ben MacKenzie's arms. And unless the writers of the show are really good at coming up with a way to bring her back plausibly, she is dead. Forever gone.

No she's not.. Apparently she's not getting paid enough from Fox or something like that. And to think, there's only 16 episodes in Season 4!!!! GRR! It sucks, she was one of the most important characters in the show. She brought everyone together. =(

no man she is definitely not comin back...basically dey were loosing viewers and dey killed her off to get some audience back...plus its gonna be a different storyline...i think ryan is gonna be with dat girl theresa again..
