Avoid Carnival and Princess Cruises AT ALL COSTS!!! They have a habit of treating their customers poorly, if things go wrong. And, for the record, they go wrong far more often than with other cruise lines.
Coincidentally, Carnival owns Princess Cruises, so there are no longer any big surprises concerning how poor the quality of customer service has become with Princess.
Royal Caribbean has a far better record for customer service quailty. It isn't perfect, but they do make a more honest effort.
Celebrity Cruise Lines, Holland America, and Norweigan are all superior to Carnival and Princess.

Royal Caribbean. It's my favorite cruise lines. I like their ships and their iineraries. They treat their passengers like royality. I enjoy being waited on as opposed to waiting on everyone when at home.

Any ship that is registered with the US coastguard.
Training of crew for emergencies is required before the ship can be registered.
