Iran seems to have a lot of nuclear powered friends and is far from being alone in the world - Will Iran ever enter the war in Lebenon and if so it sounds like they are checking in with a who's who list of support.
Maybe George is going throught the UN this time because he can't take Iran on - will Iran spell WW 3 ????
The U.S. later said it had imposed sanctions on seven companies from North Korea, Russia, India and Cuba for their arms deals with Iran.Iran and Russia signed a $1 billion defense deal in December, Russian media said at the time. Russia agreed to supply TOR-M1 ground-to-air missile systems to the Islamic Republic and also agreed to modernize its air force.
Russia is also building an atomic power station at Bushehr on Iran's Gulf coast

I believe I said that Iran was not alone and George went to the UN over Iraq and was told "no" he didn't spend a lot of time (as he is this time) going through the sanctions stuff. The UN is saying yes to sanctions but I think you will find if he asks to go to war they will say "NO" again not that this will stop him or that he cares one bit what anyone else think - which leads me to my other question - why does he show up to those meetings? He isn't going to listen or cooperate with anyone?Comprimise ha poor George would be an hour with the dictionary trying to figure that one out

There's no way we're going after Iran. Iran has three times the population, four times the area, twice the military, plus they are very nationalistic (as opposed to Iraqis who aren't). All told, Iran would be a bigger hurdle than the Iraq hurdle we can't seem to get over....

Israel is in the greatest danger with Iran's nuclear ability. Especially since the Iranian leader publicly declared they would annihilate Israel as have other middle eastern nations......don't you suppose there will be some kind of defensive move from there?
In the face of such a declaration, the US is correct to impose sanctions on those countries who support nuclear activity designed to wipe out an entire culture and millions of people.
Of course the US doesn't want to start a war with Iran, but because of their leaders extreme hatred for Israel we will be aware and doubtlessly assist Israel in their defense moves.
If not, we would be as remiss as those who turned their heads while the holocaust was happening. Hopefully, we wouldn't do that.
It may become world war III. We can only hope something will deter this from taking place.
Has the UN censured the nations supplying Iran with these materials? What good is the UN? All they do is jump in after the fact, with their criticisms.
I love Iran, and the people there are wonderful. It's too bad the common citizen always has to suffer because of their leadership.

There is a small possibility that America may attack Iran, but this would only be with an extreme provocation. You have to remember that the American public is currently very skeptical of Bush and his administration, and would not support another war (unless something unpredictable, such as a large terrorist atrocity on their soil were to happen). Moreover, he hasn't got enough support from the Republican party because even though he'll be gone in two years, a lot of them would like to stay!
Furthermore, it's important to understand that Iran is a fractious country. Ahmadinejad is unpopular among large (modenising) swathes of the population, and doesn't have complete control (that is in the hands of the Supreme Leader). Indeed, much of his sabre rattling is an attempt to a) shift the country's focus onto foreign policy issues instead of his own disastrous economic policies, and b) to unite them against a 'common enemy'.
Then it's necessary to understand the Middle East. This is also a contested area. Firstly, the Sunni and Shia Muslims seem to be in perrenial conflict: look at Iraq at present! This is essentially a civil war between the two groups. On a regional scale, Iran, Syria and Hizb'allah (Sunni) do not necessarily get on so well with the rest of the region (which includes most of the Western-friendly Islamic countries). Iran doesn't have any allies, so to provoke aggression would be suicide! There is likely to be continuing conflict in the region, but this is low-intensity conflict: it is fought through proxies and terrorist groups rather than nuclear weapons and tanks.
Perceptions are distorted by the media focus. The sanctions you refer to are largely part of a hostile diplomacy trying to apply pressure on Iran. The problem is, this plays right into Ahmadinejad's hands. But however stupid that is, it's unlikely to start a war, in my humble opinion.

Iran and Syria have been on Bushie's agenda for a long time. I'm not sure if he will deploy military, but it looks that way. Iran will at least be able to put up a better fight. Isn't this all so silly? Why can't the world see what is going on here? Are most Americans really that easy to control and be lied to? Scary.

We went through the UN in regards to Iraq. If you knew your history you would know that. We are not alone in the middle east so again you need to go and do your homework there too. The world is against Iran when it comes to him having nuclear weapons capabilities. So we will not be alone in this venture.

Iran, i think, is logistically waiting for any offensive action from US because of fact Iranians have already equipped their military and regular they instruct a sparkling logistic arm made by using themselves regionally. despite if US isn't in a solid place to realize this because of fact US is already busy in Afghan advert Iraq. extra the Arab international places in Persian Gulf can not tolerated any extra conflict interior the section as yet they have not been recovered from the sabotages affected as effect of the two wars. I recommend US is greater helpful to start communication with Iran to remedy the pending concerns and set up solid relation with them. this manner anybody will earnings and the international concerns approximately to any extent further conflict would be nullified and human beings will stay in peace and quietness. conflict will carry greater corruption and peace will revive economic equipment and wealth all the way by using.

In time we will fight Iran. We can do it sooner, before they have nukes, or later, after they have used them on Israel.
