Hey Buddy,
Install your Cam Driver with the Cam Viewer Software before connecting your CAM to your computer.
After installing the above connect your CAM.
Since you have a YAHOO usename.. Install Yahoo MESSENGER.
Login with your Usename and Password.
Select MESSENGER OPTION - MY WEBCAM.
Focus your CAM on an object. If the OBJECT is visible in the MY WEBCAM window. Ur cam is Working!
if Not Start from the Begining again.

Just install all the software, make sure everything is connected properly and then open the program and you will see what your web cam is pointed at immediately.

It depends on the type/make of your web cam. If you have installed your software...you will find 'take pictures' or something like that...or read the manual fully to understand everything...you seem to be a beginner

If you have Windows operating system you should be able to hook it up to my computer and go to my computer and select your cam from there and view it. If not, you might have Windows Movie Maker, in which, you can view it from there as well.
