All my friends who are international students opt for T-Mobile when they are in the States and they can use it back home when visiting their family and friends. It has GSM and so if you do a lot of international travel its the way to go. T-Mobile does not necessarily work where my primary residence is (Mayo, FL) but it does in major cities close to where I call home... Jacksonville, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Daytona Beach...but not in the countryside. If I lived and stayed in urban areas, I would opt for T-Mobile. They have better customer service and there prices are very economical compared to other wireless carriers. Overall, its the best "contracted" service with everything except the service out where I live is horrid. If you opt for T-Mobile prepaid, always chose the $100 cards because there you get 10 cents a minute all day everyday. Good luck!

I like Cingular. I started out as an AT&T customer until Cingular took AT&T over. As a Cingular user I can use the AT&T, Cingular, and T-Mobile towers without roaming. It is inexpensive and they have always taken care of any billing issues right away, no questions asked, they just took charges off my bill. You get rollover minutes each month, whatever you don't use, you get added onto the next month for free. Free mobile to mobile. I like them. Sprint sucked when I had it.

T-mobile is a great service, at least better than cingular. Their plans are very cheap, good reception (although that might depend where you live, but at least in CA), and does not take any EXTRA money like Cingular.
