Stop all this meditation nonsense or you will have a breakdown. It makes you far too insular and self obsessed; it is like being in solitary confinement. As human beings we are meant to be social and interact with other people; that is what gives us our knowledge of ourselves by seeing the impact we have on other people. Otherwise, it becomes too theoretical, and there is nothing mysterious inside us to find, unless we have first put it there by living a normal life.
So I am not going to indulge you, I am going to say, "stop it now", and seek the answer by spending more time with good friends.

It sounds as if you have a lot going on. Your present fears and experiences are the result of your past focus and attention. If you focus on dark and fearful things ,that'll be what you'll experience.
You can't change the past , but you can chose to focus on things that will make your future brighter.
Of course ,old habits ,some of which are far older than you ,do not give up their momentum easily. It takes dedication.
Because of this I would not advise vipassana ,or shikantaza type practices for you at this time ,as it's unlikely anyone could cope with your burden cold turkey ,so to speak. Meditation is a strong medicine ,and it can be too much for an unbalanced mind.
I would suggest something like (I know it sounds soppy, but ..) Loving Kindness Meditation, which will allow you to see your conditioning as it rebels against it, but will also sow seeds for a happier future.
Alternatively, and prehaps ideally ,more active meditations ,such as Tai Chi ,Qi Gong ,and even some martial arts ,bring energy away from the over active mind to the body and its natural wisdom. I am coming ,more and more to think that such practices are actually very powerful ,and healing, prehaps more so ,than sitting practices , as they are naturally balanced in themselves.
Whatever you do , the best thing for any meditator is the company and advice of other meditators, especially experienced teachers who will have worked with many different people ,and hopefully have been trained in the best approach to different issues.
But don't forget ,just going for a walk in nature is wonderfully healing ,free, and you can do it without a great deal of hassle.Prehaps learning to identify wild plants ,etc that may be useful or edible.

are these fears of what happens during meditation when you get into too deep a trance or fear that you cannot meditate;possibly you feel that you will go so far into your mind you will not be able to find your way back
at any rate your email suggests that you are in a fair amount of trouble and need to talk to someone fast;i hope there is no drug involvement as you may be psychotic as a result and may even have triggered schizophrenia but i suppose that you have simply become hysterical and over involved;too much detail is the cause of trouble in young people and you may need to step back and ignore some of the details and see a less detailed overall picture;whatever it is you need to talk to someone fast and if you want to give us more details i am sure we can point you in the right direction

Fear is an evolutionary behavior conditioned into intelligent life. Without fear, animals would not recognize the impending danger of a predator or other aggressive animal. With too much fear, animals wouldn't be able to settle down for a proper meal without being spooked by something. So, to answer your question, fear is a very natural, environmentally-conditioned response to stimuli.

Don't really understand the question, but if you are having problems meditating just try and do it for five minutes, concentrating on your breath to start with.
That reminds me I should do meditation more often myself. I only ever do it when I am down and it always seems to help afterwards....

Meditate with your eyes open. Lots of people do.
Keep your eyes fixed on a spot just ahead of you on the floor. Concentrate on your breathing and your posture. When you have a thought, let it go.
You don't have to fix yourself, just be natural. Also, you don't have to fix things with magic, go "with" the flow.

Sorry, your fears of meditating? You need to be a little more specific. Wish you well.
