Yes! People spell it wrong all the time....I swear, my name was misspelled on my baby shower cake! I've seen the pictures! People were misspelling my name before I was even born! And then there are the people that mispronounce it. It's not Christian, it's not Christine, it's not Catherine, it's Kristin! KRIS-TIN!

I used to. Now I don't mind it so much. I don't LIKE it, but I don't HATE it, either. I hated it when I was a kid, though, because I was under the impression that any girl's name that didn't end with "a" or "ah" was not a legitimately feminine name (my name ends with "en"). I don't hold that belief anymore, because firstly, there are some boys' names that I'd love to hear on a girl (such as Hunter or Blake), and secondly, there are some names (such as Micah) that end with "a" or "ah" and are meant for boys!

I hate my surname - not only was it the subject of ridicule at school, it relates to me in no way whatsoever. My named grandfather was not my biological grandfather so I don't feel the kinship there. I tend not to use my surname unless it's for form-filling and the like.
My first name is quite fun though, not many of us about :-)

Oh, I so hate my name, people never say it properly and always, always pronounce it wrong, my name is Jacqueline, people either say Jack-o-lyn or Jack-o-line they never say it as it should sound, its too long anyhow and I much prefer the shortened version of my name or the nick names I have from my hubby or friends.

Yes, I do. My full name was given to me by my sister and my father. I prefer the name that my sister gave me because my father named me after himself and it`s an ugly name. Uggg!

Yes I do. I am Elizabeth but HATE being called that, I feel like I am in trouble or something! My Nephew called me Lilly and it stuck (thank god!)

i think we should choose our own name
just have a temporary one till your old enough to choose
some parents have no taste in names,
mine is Paula and have never liked it ,

I did as I prefered the name that my mother wanted me to have. Apparantly my Dad didn't like it as he knew he would have difficulty spelling it.
Now I like my name as there aren't many of me about.
