I would find out the laws on it too. But I think as long as it is OK with your grandmother it should be fine. It is a great thing you are doing. Check into the nanny cams. That may work too.

First, I'd get a consultation with a lawyer or ask your question on Yahoo answers under Law - be sure to tell what state you're in. If you're afraid of abuse, you need to make sure any proof you obtain can be used.
Once you know the legalities, do a search on wireless webcams to find out how they work, how far can they be from a computer... etc.

you need a computer and i wireless web cam. and Internet. you can remote in and see everything that is going on.. you can go to FRY'S and pick up most of the stuff ..
