The atomic bombs dropped in Japan (can't and won't even try to spell the city names) scared us for a while. They still do thank goddess freyja but when we dropped them we weren't sure if they would ignite the atmosphere and burn the earth into a cinder block . We did it anyway - wow huh.
The German camps - prove how insanely cruel we can be and don't get too too comfortable with the I am not German routine -same specis - and every nation has tortured people in insane ways. Englands "tower" and the dungeons of Europe and all over the world there has been a history of orginised hateful torturous creulty and it is still going on. The US soldiers that were charged (Lt. English) the Canadians that were charged (Somolia) the list goes on and on.
We seem to be very angry very aggressive tribalist's who are capable of almost anything .
Given the fundemental nature of man being really nasty how long can it be before we kill ourselves - with our own big sticks and stones?

I find it unlikely that we would manage to kill off the human race, we'd have to destroy the whole planet. Even a nuclear exchange at the height of the Cold War wouldn't've done that, and we have many fewer nukes now. Even a bio weapon would likely have some resistant persosn who would carry on. When we're talking about an Earth with over 6 billion humans, its hard to kill us all off.
Okay we have all had the re-populating the earth day dream - but would a few billion less of us change our nature or make you glad that a new Adam and Eve's were still around ...............it would still be a mass suicide wouldn't it and it would still be because we could not get along with one another what makes you think that the 1 or 2 billion left would do better?Or do we as a planet just need to thin the herd out? I would rather figure out how to conquer our primitive nature .........but how and is it even possible?

Most unfortunate that you can't spell Hiroshima or Nagasaki, and think that the atmosphere will burn. You should get off this chat board until you know something.
No no no you missed it . At the time before dropping this "A:" bomb the scientists told the President of the US that oh by the way we aren't sure if splitting an atom won't set off a chain reaction and ignite the atmosphere killing all life. It didn't they were wrong but it was a valid worry and the President said drop it anyway. This is the kind of risk a human will can and does take -showing the primitive nature of our very being - Get it now?

Firstly, I don't think the fundamental nature of human beings is to be nasty, but is to be love.
Unfortunately, earth people are given an ego that challenges their spiritual side and creates the nastiness through competitiveness(pride), jealousy and anger. When people can identify those things in themselves, they can learn to stop them and eventually return to their spiritual selves.
That's what the Spiritual movement is all about. Changing perception and old ugly attitudes.
Secondly, human beings have survived the worst of times, which were pre-biblical and early Christianity days . Remember that people were fed to the lions as a spectator sport, like we enjoy baseball games today.
And they survived with slingshots and rocks.
Our common sense tells us where to draw the line, if we choose to survive. It's our instinct.
As to the Atomic bomb being dropped - gee, I really think they 'knew' it wasn't going to ignite the atmosphere. When were the scientists stopped from testing such things??? I believe if we were that careless, we would not be here today. You see, even the politicians value their own lives enough to be careful.

History will repeat itself.. FOR SURE..
Because, our memories are short.. too many can not visualize facts and theory.. They have to EXPERIENCE things to know what it really is like to suffer, of hunger, of war.
Even in Vietnam people still suffer the consequences physically, of the 'agent orange', children still today born deformed because of chemicals used by the USA.
Racism and intolerance is still around the corner.. no, I'm not talking about anti-semitism as much as I am talking about the new fashionable anti-islamism.
It seems grandparents can not pass on this experience to their kids.. new generations see images, videos and hear stories, but they are not that different from movies and videogames.. emotionally we're very distant from it.
And so, history will repeat itself because we forget.. we only remember events, but we never seem to have quite understood the PATTERN, that causes such things.. in general it is ignorance, but to specify an example:
How many people know and understand the difference between correlation and causality? From the bell-curve (blacks are stupid and criminal) to the islam being the cause of terrorism (muslims are terrorists). Most of us are and will always remain ignorant, no matter how technology advances... we keep getting more food pre-chewed for us, but most of us remain sheep. Look at how many people don't realize the dangers of media channels like Fox news, and believe it's "fair & balanced".
And how many were supportive of the war, when they brought it like a superbowl match "SHOWDOWN IN IRAQ", said the headlines on Fox news.. and americans yelled "Yeah! We're gonna kick some ***". THIS is how we think about war today?
It's a video game?

we will end up killing ourselves in time
because we developed the need and urge to kill, killing will result in unpredictable ways politically and socially
depends, if we end up building hazardous weapons, god knows what will happen to us
