BTW, you *do* know that you can not just write a Star Wars novel and have it published without having Lucas involved, right??? The stories need to be well written and consistent with the existing Jedi-verse.
Contact the folks from Lucas before you go to much farther.

Ho hum to those guys about copyrights blah and blah.. you can still write your Star Wars story and once done, in order to publish it, you would just have to get Lucasfilms' authorization to publish under their copyrights.
