humans were colanised by another planet/race.Surely we didnt evolve from a fish then a flying fish, then a monkey and so on.

The human body is to complex to have evovled,Its a sophiciticated machine that must have been engineered by someone.

I believe we came from a distant planet and were put here as an experiment thats why we keep getting visited by ufo's.

Actually people should treat this more seriously; its worth the debate

Well, you say this, but think about it. If humans were engineered, then who did the engineering? What was that race like? Surely they would have been pretty complex themselves, at least as complex as humans perhaps? If that's the case, then, by your reasoning, that race didn't evolve either- they too must have been engineered, and if so, who did that? It would go on and on, an endless string of aliens engineering more aliens...

I think evolution must be the key to how humanity came to be. We didn't come from monkeys- both we and the monkeys came from a similar creature, right? However many marmosets you have, they're unlikely to spring up onto two legs and start programming for Microsoft anytime soon... still, I heard that a good example of an early primate in the modern world is the lemur. Great ancestordad!

Still, if you want to explain the UFO visits in this way, that's fine, I just think there are flaws in your reasoning. Ceilings too...

There are not an infinite number of elements on the earth. So all things on the earth are created from the same materials. If you think of DNA as an atomic structure of living things, we will all be related to everything but, more closely to some things than others.

Evolution and the Big Bang theory arrive to their conclusions with musta beens. There was this so it stands to reason that there musta been this. There is no proof. The changes in the environment musta generated some mutations that were more adaptible to the then existing environment and/or better able to flee their predators.

There musta been a single point in the big nothing (vacuum) that exploded and created the universe. There musta been something.

But these are only educated guesses. Evolutionists have not connected all of the dots and the Big Bang Theory ignors the vacuum making it invalid. Sometimes, education can get in the way of intelligence.

So, at this point, your guess is as good as any one elses.

How is the human body more complex than those of the other animals? Were they engineered as well? When the aliens engineered us, did they just look at Chimps and think to themselves "You know, that's ALMOST right. Let's base 99% of the human genetic code on these apes."

With the fossil record such as it is, seeming to paint an intriguing picture of human origins, why is it more feasible to invent an alien race to "engineer" us than to accept the simpler, more obvious theory of where we come from?

Why is so hard to believe we descended from fish? Did you know that the amniotic fluid in a mother's womb has the exact same salinity as sea water? Coincidence? Did you know that we share many of the same internal organs as fish? Coincidence too?

But, if you are right, I would like to speak to these engineers. There are a few design flaws I'd like to speak to them about.

For instance, I would like a permanent tan. Getting sunburned every year is a pain in the butt. And I think we should all have good singing voices, because that would make karaoke night a lot more pleasant. And knees! I am so tired of my favorite athletes being sidelined with ACL tears. And backs! I enjoy being physically active and it pisses me off when my back goes out because of the imperfect design of our back bones, which seem very much like they evolved from quadrupedal creatures. OH, and every woman's favorite, could the aliens have made baby's heads just a little smaller or women's birth canals just a little wider? That whole labor thing seems like a cruel joke to play on the creatures you just spent so long engineering.

I also seem to be missing my UFO visits. Is there some kind of homing device that I was supposed to be engineered with? Because I've never seen an alien.

Sigh.

We evolved over millions of years.

You see the main problem people have regarding evolution is conceptualising just how long a million years is. It is a very, very long time.

I read a taster chapter from a book by Dawkins, it was great. He explained that given enough time, random mutations that are advantageous make tiny incremental improvements across the generations. It is a bit like an incredibly slow journey creeping up a mountain over millions of years to get to say an eye or a wing.

Like I said, the main problem people have is that they can't get their heads round what a long time all this takes.

If humans originated by colonisation by aliens, how come our DNA can be shown to relate to every known species on the planet and every known species can be related to fossils that are hundreds of millions of years old?

The human body is no more complex than any other large mammal and nobody claims cows were brought from outer space.

This type of speculation results from an almost total ignorance of the range & depth of knowledge available on the subject of the development of life on Earth. It is unfortunately occasionally supported by 'scientists' whose religious precepts neutralise their critical faculties when it comes to this type of question. It is also supported by too many 'snake-oil' authors who know how to make a quick buck from the terminally gullible.

Ive seen few more people as mental as you.

YES WE EVOLVED LIKE THAT!!! We started as bacteria organisms, became reptiles, mammals, then humans. Simple as that. It took course over an estimated almost 1 billion years. Which gives plenty of time to evolve.

My proof comes from that fact that everything contains dna, so we know as a fact that all of us decended from a common ansestor.

I seek your proof now.
