Being that you are in your 20's, I wouldn't move to Sanford. It is slower paced, a lot of families live there. I would suggest Maitland, Altamonte Springs, or anywhere in Orlando. You might like those areas better than Sanford. If you are stuck in Sanford, at least it will give you time to get to know the area so you have a better idea of where you'd want to live.
I moved from the north too. Lived in Gainesville, then St. Pete, and I have to say, Orlando is great!! There is so much to do.
Maitland and Altamonte are closer to Orlando than Sanford. It all depends on how much you can afford in rent and what you are looking to do.

Moved to Ft Lauderdale from Albany 6 years ago. Here's my opinion: In Summer, Florida is much hotter & gets more rain,
than l ever expected. The pay scale is much lower than in NY
but there is no state income tax. Commuting is even worse
than NYC & auto & home insurance are sky high & rising.....
the good news, I havn't shoveled a driveway in 6 years, so many
people from NY live down here that you will meet people from back home. Jobs are plentifull...provided you have the skills for them. New housing developments and apartment complexes
grow every day & rents are compatable to pay scales, at least for now. Orlando & the suburbs still has room to grow, and
you won't find too much urban sprall plus the area works hard to
maintain a "clean & safe" image because of all the tourist that
visit. Stanford in the summer can be hot and boring & i recommend you visit for a week before commiting.
Good Luck

I moved from Upstate NY to Miami when I graduated highschool... I LOVED FLORIDA! You can't beat sitting on a beach in the middle of December and thinking... hmm... I'm glad I'm not stuck in that freak blizzard up north! I moved from Miami to Orlando after college and loved Orlando even more! There's always tons of things to do, great local places that a lot of tourists don't know about and the weather is almost always decent! Hot yes, humid definately, rainy sometimes. But overall it's a great place! I wouldn't recommend Sanford though. It is a little trashy. The closer you get to Orlando, the nicer it is! Good luck!

They lease tremendous residences and get various roomates. In my city a a million bedroom condominium may be $500, yet a 4 bedroom condominium could properly be $1000. With 4 roomates that reduces the lease to $250. They devour low value meals like Ramen noodles. also, it truly is more cost-effective to make a dinner for 4 than it truly is to make 4 dinners for a million. They percentage nutrients to keep money. pupil loans and different economic help supplementations what they earn from thier interest. those scholars do no longer continuously proceed to exist an element time income. Moved here from,Long Island, 12 years ago, took a long time to adjust. If you are moving, research the area, visit. I made the MAJOR mistake of moving to Pasco County. Left after 2 years, nightmare. So is this Sanford, not fun for any age. I now live Indian Rocks are, 2 miles South of Clearwater Beach. There is Life here, West Coast!!!!
