No your car cant detect the difference,,fact is now days most cars are designed to run on lower octane ratings,,and they do fine on it,,plus just has a little more octane in it,,and in some studies they have done ,,testing gas at certain places they have found no difference in the two at all,,it was as if they got the samples from the sam e tank,s,,i use regular,,and cant tell any difference in it,,and i own a repair shop,,and work on cars all the time..as far as i know all the ars run just fine on the lower grade of fuel,,i been doing repair work for 35 yrs,,and i hope this will help you.

it means its a higher octane rating which burns hotter inside the motor more combustion fires off the spark plug a whole lot better and runs better and cleaner than regular unleaded fuel better mileage

It is the octane rating look in your owners manual for the recommended rating going higher is a waste of money
