Not expected, no but it would be nice for you to cook say 4 times a week then go out to dinner together once a week, have him whip something up once a week and then have one night were you have sandwich night or something. If you encourage him the right way like make out that there is a dish or two that only he is good at....that works for me I make out that I don't know how to use the George Forman, that way he thinks that he is using his special man skills an I get out of cooking that night!!! See if his mom or dad had any great family recipes that he remembers and try and get him to create it for you both to share, he may start to enjoy doing it more and not expect it all to come from you.

Honestly, if the woman is not working and the man is, then yes. He has worked all day and yes, she has also...but it is not the same.
I dont like to cook either, but I do. He works all day and at least he deserves to come home to a cooked meal, so he can relax the rest of the evening.

If you do all the housework, shopping, taking care of children, if there are any, laundry etc, etc. I do not see why you should have to cook all of the time. You work just as hard as he does. Only difference is, he gets paid. If cooking is not his thing, ask him to help out somewhere else. Remember, he works @ 8 hours a day, housework is usually a full time job, 16 give or take hours a day!!

If the woman isn't working and the man is, the least she can do is keep the house clean and prepare meals. I don't think it's fair to expect your man to cook a meal when he gets home from work, when you have all day to do it.

I think it should be a shared thing. I don't think we should have to cook if we worked all day in the home. I think it should be one of those things like... " you cook one night and I cook the next, back and forth. and one night a week go out." it is far that way. yes he worked but so did you.

exactly! i feel the way you do. i was born and raised in the south and grew up learning that the woman was supposed to take care of her man and cook, clean, take care of the kids and fulfill his every need. i think my husband takes it too far sometimes. no i don't work but that's just because i'm pregnant and he doesn't want me to work. but give me a break and cook me something just once at least!

well first of all i don't see anything wrong with having a hot cook meal ready for my man when he get off work .because you still don't have much to do if you clean at night then you only have breakfast dishes to clean

No, especially if you do not enjoy it. And it sounds like you do not. You guys should set a date night (family night) or whatever you want to call it. If you have children, make a game out of it and put a lot of restaraunts in a hat and have fun choosing a different one.
