My husband is a mechanical engineer. Depending on what your graduate degree is in, you may be very valuable to a company. One of our friends is the ONLY person in my husband's international company who has a Ph.D. in a very specified area. The company needs him terribly! A master's is best on the way to a Ph.D., and if your Ph.D. is in a specialized area that is valuable to a company, then your education is well worth it.
